The book committee of six people was driven by a single objective - to produce a high quality hard-cover book in as short a time as possible, that would, through words and images, tell the story of "Grange - Past and Present".

Having met for the first time in September 2014, the committee succeeded in having a 700 page book published in November 2015.

The committee membership, as follows, included five retired persons and one much younger member, Miriam Gallagher - Chairperson.

Miriam Gallagher was a most effective chairperson. Meetings were held infrequently, but, between meetings, each member was tasked to achieve specified objectives - this worked well. Miriam works with the Limerick and Clare Educational and Training Board (LCTEB). During the period that the committee sat, Miriam was also studying for a degree, and she was subsequently awarded a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management from University of Limerick. She wrote a number of articles for the book, including a history of Grange National School. Miriam is an active member of the Grange Cross Residents Association.

Mary Kate Gallagher was the essential driving force behind the book. For many years, she had wished for such a book to be written: she had in fact undertaken much research for that purpose. That research proved invaluable to the committee. In her early years, Mary worked in banking and subsequently spent many years overseas, returning to her beloved Grange eventually. Prior to retiring, Mary worked for a number of years, both in voluntary and paid capacities, as a trained Literacy and Numeracy Tutor with County Limerick Vocational Education Committee. She is a member of the well-known O'Dwyer family, celebrated in an article in the book. She wrote a number of articles. Mary was a wonderful co-editor.

Michael Weekes needs no introduction within County Limerick and, indeed, beyond. He is well-known in GAA circles at local, county and provincial levels. A great exponent of the games in his playing years, he subsequently contributed magnificently at managerial and policy-making (county and national) levels. Michael remains actively involved with the Bruff GAA Club. A well-deserved tribute to Michael is to be found in the book. During his working life, Michael spent many years in management in large retail outlets. One such appointment was at the great Newsoms outlet in Limerick.

Pat O'Connell possesses a great memory store of information regarding the present and the past - of people, places and events. Much of this was captured and is included in the book. Pat spent all of his working life in a skilled capacity with the Electricity Supply Board, and he frequently recalls, with great wit, his memories of that period in his life. It was no surprise, therefore, when Pat penned an engaging and entertaining article on rural electrification. Pat is an active member of the Grange Cross Residents Association.

Tommy O'Connell is well-known in the Grange locality. In his day, he was a great hurling exponent, when he played for Bruff. He has a love of all sports and was involved in the management of Holycross AFC. He is a great supporter of Munster and Irish rugby, travelling frequently to games in the company of the above named Pa O'Connell (brother-in-law). Tommy spent the most of his working life in a skilled capacity with Roadstone. He contributed a magnificent article to the book - a tribute to his parents. Tommy is an active member of the Grange Cross Residents Association.

Tommy Hourigan has lived outside of Grange for much of his life, but he returns there at every opportunity. Grange is very special to him for a variety of reasons. He co-wrote an article for the book on growing up in Grange. Tommy spent all of his working life in the health services, most of this in health service management roles. He wrote a number of articles. He co-edited the book with Mary Gallagher - he frequently acknowledges their easy and productive working relationship.
