Welcome to Artist Kathy Tiernan!

Grange artist Kathy Tiernan becomes the first artist to join the grangeparish.com website. Her profile, and a number of her works, can be viewed under the Art & Photography tab -https://www.grangeparish.com/kathy-tiernan-painting-collection

Kathy, who hails originally from the foot of the Hill of Allen in Kildare, has lived in the Grange locality for many years. She is extremely active in her field and has a schedule in the coming months that makes the head spin!

First up is the '6 Sundays Exhibition' at Bedford Row, Limerick, starting on Sunday 02 July. Original works of art will be exhibited by some of the foremost artists in the county among which Kathy is numbered. In an interview earlier today with grangeparish.com, Kathy informed us that the '6 Sundays' event is a progression on last year's event. "We have artists and illustrators, a stencil artist, and a weaver with her spinning wheel. There is such a wide range of experience and talent to be seen, some artists have already gained a degree in fine art, while one lady is just starting out on her journey from John The Baptist Community School to LSAD. Lots to be excited about."

The first two weeks of August sees Kathy take part in an exhibition with fellow artists at Central Buildings in Limerick City. A title for the exhibition is yet to be decided. October sees a solo exhibition by Kathy at the Friar's Gate Theater in Kilmallock and we obviously wish her well for that one especially. November sees Kathy take part in an exhibition with well-known Limerick illustrator and tutor at Hatters Castle Art Class & Studio, Frank Bouchier. December will bring another exhibition through Kathy's membership of the Limerick Art Society. As stated above, head spinning stuff!

On a more local front, Kathy is presently planning to introduce art classes for residents of Grange and surrounding localities in the near future. In that regards, watch this space!

The grangeparish.com website will include regular updates on Kathy's artistic events and antics! We wish her well for the future and extend a warm welcome to her as the latest addition to the site. Happily, local residents no longer need to worry about that birthday, anniversary or Christmas present, when a short trip to Kathy's studio at Rahin, Grange will immediately solve the problem!
