It was with great sadness that those of us involved in the Grange Parish website learned of the sudden and shocking death of the popular Grange teenager, Luke Daniel O'Brien-May. Luke, a Leaving Certificate student and a talented sportsman, passed away on 18th June, after a short illness. At the time, Luke was well into sitting the Leaving Certificate examinations, having recently taken the biology examination.
The dearly loved eldest son of Brid and Denis and the cherished brother of Ross and Paul, Luke's passing is tragic.
We extend our sincere sympathy and condolences to Brid, Denis, Ross and Paul, and to Luke's extended family, his neighbours and his wide circle of friends.
As reported in The Limerick Leader, "The 'last selfless act' of a Leaving Certificate pupil who has died aged 18 was to donate four of his organs to give others a chance at living a healthy life, his funeral Mass in Limerick has heard."
