Dan Dillon and Tony Houlihan, Rest in Peace
I met Moira Dillon yesterday at the Funeral Mass for Tony Barry, RIP, at Fedamore Church. Until Moira told me, I hadn't known that the Dillon family of Grange lost two family members in recent times.
Dan Dillon of Cashel and Grange passed away on 31st January at South Tipperary General Hospital, and Tony Houlihan of Newcastlewest and Adare, a young man in his 40s, son of Breda Dillon and Tommy Houlihan, passed away at the Milford Care Centre on 5th February after a brief illness.
We offer our belated sincere sympathy and condolences to the Dillon and Houlihan families and to the friends of the deceased.
Dan Dillon grew up on The Old Road in Grange. During his years there, he was known as an excellent hurler who played for the Bruff GAA Club. Dan made a career in An Garda Síochána, in the Cashel area, and he was in retirement at the time of his passing. Dan was a former Town Councillor and Mayor of Cashel, and he was highly active in the public life of the town over many years.

Tony's mother, Breda Dillon, spent her earlier life in Grange, where she resided on The Old Road, before relocating to Adare with her husband, Tommy Houlihan.
For a family to lose one beloved member is always sad - to suffer the loss of two family members in quick succession must bring enormous pain. Our thoughts are with you all.
